BBC News – Health of oceans ‘declining fast’
An ironic problem! It makes sense to bring problems to public attention, but what if the act of bringing them to attention gives those receiving the alarm, especially now that news has a global forum, an implicit licence to wait to see whether others are responding before investing anything?
What if we are all waiting for such evidence?
What if the idea of appealing to one another as moral/rational agents assumes something about us that is not true?
